If you were a teacher, what grade would you like to teach?
Ok, story time. I wanted to be a teacher when I was a teenager. I had a lot of babysitting experience and I thought I was great with kids. So the thought of becoming a kindergarten or elementary school teacher came very naturally. However, my plan was changed when I decided to go to college in the states after high school.
When I was in college, I decided to get a psychology degree. I was interested in human relationship and marriage science. Psychology major would help me get into that direction. During the time in college, I still had the desire to be a teacher but I didn't know how I could pursue both.
A few years later, I graduated and I got a job back in Hong Kong. I was actually got a job to teach little kids phonics. It was not related to my major but I got to teach. I was very happy and satisfied. Two years later, I married my husband whom I met on a blind date (another story for another day). I thought my dream of being a teacher ended.
Little did I know, being a parent is the best teaching job that I have ever had. I get to teach my kids not just academic subjects, but also I get to teach them life skills that they can use for their whole life.
Thank you for being a great teacher in your family!
Happy Monday & Live Elegantly!
